Soğanlı village, also known as the gateway to the Cappadocia Region, is also famous for its Soğanlı Dolls, which have become the symbol of the village.
The local clothes worn by women aged 60-65 in Soğanlı Village today are 20-70 cm. tall, 1 cm. These are cloth dolls prepared by dressing them on a wide wooden and hair skeleton. The product is decorated with various motifs and stamps with local characteristics and is prepared using handcrafted production techniques. The Soganli doll is supported by pieces of towels on a wooden and circular frame, with hair woven from flannel, chintz, calico and cheesecloth, and black woolen rope or orlon, and the head part is sewn from the same fabrics such as kutnu, velvet and tulle. She is dressed in a wedding dress and decorated with a mini water jug in her hand, a wooden kirmen, a mini doll, a wooden pitchfork or an armrest on her arm. Facial lines are drawn with colored spirit pen, acetate pen or batik paint. The Soganli Doll, which has a skirt, robe and tulle wedding dress decorated with motifs, is produced in three different sizes
